Edeni Lodge
Edeni is the name of an animal reserve on the banks of the Edeni River in the Transvaal, South Africa. It is close to the famous Kruger National Park, dedicated to the president Paul Kruger, who created in 1896 the second wildlife sanctuary after Yellowstone Park in the Wyoming. After it was expanded the Kruger became in 1926 the largest South African wildlife reserve open to the public. It occupies an area the size of half of Brittany. With 140 mammal species, 517 bird species and 119 reptile species, the park presents many animals in exceptional natural conditions, including plenty of the famed « Big Five »: elephant, lion, leopard, white and black rhinoceros and buffalo.
In an « Out of Africa » atmosphere in the Edeni Safari Park you can follow hunting lions and leopards by night, or cheetahs by day, accompanied by naturalist guides and experienced rangers, by foot or by car. Childhood dreams finally come true. Our journey to an enthusiastic South Africa, then recently liberated from apartheid, remains one of our greatest travel memories. This is why we chose this theme, to evoke those memories and share with our guests our affinity for Africa as a whole.
